Hey, I’m Nick — a 25-year-old software developer and photographer from Illinois. After nearly two years of planning, I finally picked up a Ram Promaster 2500 159” High Roof in May 2025 and started the van build. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time — a mix of travel, self-reliance, and some good old DIY problem-solving, finally coming to life.
Prior to buying the van, I'd visited nearly half of all US states, and hope to hit all 50 by the end of 2026. I’ll be traveling part-time at first, transitioning to full-time vanlife when the time’s right.
To count as a visited state, I had to stay at least one night, and visit something meaningful in that state. Most of the states listed were 2-3 days each, or more.
